Theater

At Westminster, we believe theater is a powerful expression of storytelling, imagination, and truth. As part of a classical Christian education, the study and performance of drama helps students grow in wisdom, virtue, and eloquence while cultivating creativity, confidence, and collaboration.
From the earliest stories told around a fire to the great works of Shakespeare and beyond, drama has long been used to explore the human condition and point audiences toward truth, goodness, and beauty. Through theater, students learn to communicate clearly, inhabit the perspective of others, and engage timeless themes with empathy and discernment. As Christians, we recognize that all stories ultimately find their meaning in the greater story of redemption that God is telling through history.
Students at Westminster have the opportunity to participate in a musical production during the fall semester and a play during the spring semester. Casts are selected through an audition process, and students are encouraged to develop their gifts both on stage and behind the scenes.
Our theater program seeks to cultivate not only strong performers, but also students who work diligently, serve one another well, and use their gifts to glorify God. Through rehearsals and performances, students learn discipline, teamwork, courage, and joyful creativity while experiencing the unique bond that comes from creating something beautiful together.
Whether memorizing lines, building sets, learning choreography, or stepping onto the stage for the first time, students are invited into the rich and rewarding work of bringing stories to life.
